CDH Investment Bank participates in Presidential Charity Golf

CDH Investment Bank participated in the 2022 Swing to Serve Presidential Charity Golf Initiative. The golf tournament was held at the Lilongwe Golf Club on Saturday 8th October 2022 and was hosted by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, supported by Dr Saulosi Chilima, the Vice President. The tournament was held to raise funds for charitable causes affecting the most vulnerable. 

CDH Investment Bank contributed K1million towards the golf tournament. The bank was pleased to support the initiative which fits its corporate social responsibility (CSR) Policy that aims to support vulnerable people. CDH Investment Bank CSR policy supports education as one of our pillars for development and so the cause to assist deserving needy tertiary students to complete their studies is one. 

The charity golf was hosted to raise additional raise funds to assist hundreds of families that live in makeshift houses in areas hit by tropical cyclones. The bank, finds the devastation caused by various cyclones in Malawi, including loss of life and property and loss of livelihood, in various districts that have been affected very disheartening. As CDH Investment Bank, we are committed to continue to contribute to lessening the problems of survivors of tropical cyclones. 

We were happy to receive the support of one of our clients Mr Partridge Shycal, Managing Director of Inspired Group Limited who partnered with Thoko Mkavea, CDH Investment Bank Deputy Chief Executive Officer. The team put up a great performance that landed them 43 points at the end of the game placing them on fourth position. The winning team of Jr Duncan Chidzankufa and Justice Ken Manda scooped 46 points at the tournament. 

The Presidential Charity Golf Tournament raised K280 million which will be used to bail out needy university students and reach out to flood victims in some parts of the country. His Excellency, the President, Dr McCarthy Lazarus Chakwera, who initiated the event, played in the tourney which attracted 134 golfers.
