Head of Business Development and Marketing

The Head of Business Development and Marketing, reporting to the Managing Director, will be responsible for providing direction and overall management of the business development and marketing functions of the company, which includes sales, product development, brand management, market and business research , publications and marketing of the company products and services.

Key Job Requirements

Strategy and Policy Formulation - infer alia:

  1. Take lead in the development of marketing strategies aimed at growing customer base and introduction of new products
    and services in line with the company's strategic focus and business plans;
  2. Designing strategies for business growth.

Operational

Monitor and ensure timely attain­ment of agreed sales and marketing opera­tional benchmarks and milestones; inter alia:

-  Service delivery: Foster a sprit of innovation and customer-focus' in service delivery;

Marketing and product development -

  1. Identifying   new   business   opportunities, evaluating existing and potential markets and determining options for growth in targeted markets;
  2. Conduct product market research and intelligence surveys in order to timely respond to current and emerging marketing trends and opportunities;
  3. Design and implement communication and marketing strategies with a view to enhance brand image,    product acceptance and market deepening.


Networking and interfacing with key stakeholders

Liaising and networking with key stakeholders in all sectors of the economy to ensure that the company's products and services remain relevant and meet stake­holders' expectations at all times.

HR  management: 

Mentor   and   supervise sales and marketing staff through provision
of timely feedback to  ensure that staff achieve    highest    level    of    professional growth   and  desired   performance  standards.

Qualifications

At a minimum, a post-graduate qualification in business administration, banking, finance, marketing or equivalent;

Experience

  • At least 5 years managerial experience, preferably in marketing financial products and services;

  • A track record in analytical market research and problem solving;

  • Strong entrepreneurial and customer service orientation;

  • Possess a high degree of initiative, innovation and creativity.

Business Manager - CDH Forex Bureau Ltd

The vacancy below is a senior managerial position which requires applicants with strong management capacity and ability to develop business strategy that is relevant to the company. It is also a must that applicants should be business-minded and capable of contributing to business growth. Responsibilities                                       ,

  1. Based in Lilongwe and reporting to the board, the incumbent will be
    responsible for leading u team of operational staff and selling the
    company products and services to both current and prospective clients.
  2. To provide overall management of the company to ensure that the
    company is managed in line with regulations.
  3. Identifying new business opportunities, evaluating existing and
    potential markets and determining options for growth in specific
    markets.
  4. Defining the market structure/segments and assisting in establishing the strategy for gaining market share.
  5. Designing of strategies, new products and services aimed at growing
    the customer base especially retail foreign exchange supplies.
  6. Reporting company and market performance.

Key qualities

  1. A professional of good standing, highly disciplined and with strong
    analytical skills.
  2. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to complete
    assignments in a timely manner.
  3. Must possess excellent communication, presentation, inter- personal
    and negotiation skills.
  4. Must  have  very  strong   entrepreneurial   and   customer  service
    orientation.
  5. Must be a motivated self-starter with ability to work under minimum
    supervision while observing strict deadlines.
  6. Must possess a high degree of initiative, innovation and creativity.

Qualification and experience

  1. Minimum of a post-graduate qualification in Business Administration,
    Banking, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or equivalent.
  2. At least five years managerial experience in selling foreign exchange
    products and services especially in the mainstream banking sector.
  3. Knowledge of the exchange control regulations issued by Government
    to regulate foreign exchange bureau business in Malawi.
  4. Working knowledge of the Malawi financial market will be an added
    advantage.
