Thoko Mkavea is Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director from October 2020 and Chief Investment Banking Officer for CDH Investment Bank from 2012. He was instrumental in the formation of the bank.

Thoko has had a distinguished career in banking, finance, corporate finance, fund management and investment banking having spent over 24 years in diverse leadership roles, becoming Head of Asset Management of Continental Asset Management Limited in 2007. Before this role, Thoko served as Deputy General Manager & Head of Finance and Administration for The Leasing and Finance Company of Malawi Limited (LFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of First Capital Bank. He also served as a senior manager in finance with Henred Freuhauf Limited. He started his career as management trainee with Press Corporation Plc.

Thoko is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He also holds an MBA from the University of Derby (UK) and a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Malawi.
