Director

Professor Alexander Faure
BA (Com), MA (Econs), D Phil

Professor Pierre Faure is a renowned economist and professor at Rhodes University and University of Fort Hare where he also serves as Investec Chairman in money, banking and finance.

Before that, he lectured at the University of Stellenbosch and Cape Town between 1994 and 1997. He has authored and co-authored a number of books and journals including “The Mechanics of the South African Financial System”, “Interest-Bearing Securities Market” and “Money Market Investment Analyst’s Journal & Financial Services in South Africa”.

He has been appointed a member of various bodies and companies such as the Governing Bodies of King Edward VII School, Financial Markets Advisory Body of South Africa which oversees financial exchanges including the JSE, Governing Body of Somerset College and Peregrine Holdings Limited and The South African Bank of Athens Limited. He is currently a non-executive Director and Advisor on TransAfrica Holdings Limited.

As director of CDH and its subsidiaries, CDH Asset Management and CDH Forex, Prof. Faure has made significant contributions to strategy, risk management and training since 2005. He is a South African and runs his training and placement company, Quoin Institute.
