 Robert Abbey is a qualified accountant with extensive experience in public practice, risk and strategic management having worked for two of the leading accountancy firms KPMG and PWC in London, Zambia, Ghana and Malawi for many years.
He is the Chairman of CDH having steered it from inception in 1998.
Robert commands special interest in corporate governance and compliance issues owing to his background.
Robert is based in Johannesburg, South Africa where is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at TAH Capital, an investment arm of the parent company of CDH, Trans-Africa Holdings Limited. As COO, he is responsible, through management agreements, for the operations of CDH in Malawi, CDH in Rwanda and Securities Discount Company (SDC) in Ghana. He also sits as director on the boards of CDH Asset Management Limited, CDH Forex Bureau Limited, SDC of Ghana and CDH Rwanda.
